Overview

The biggest RT Link-Belt builds.

The RTC-80160 Series II is the flagship of the rough terrain line: 160 tons of capacity on a greaseless six-section boom that telescopes to 195.3 ft. Stack the bi-fold fly and three 18 ft lattice extensions and the hook tops out at a 311 ft tip height, tower reach on six wheels.

Link-Belt Pulse runs the show from the cab: integrated rated capacity limiter, boom length and angle, tip height, and audible-visual warnings on one color display. Up to 59,000 lb of pinned counterweight backs the big charts and comes off for transport, and 6×2/6×6 hydrostatic drive with four steering modes, including six-wheel and crab, moves it at up to 15.8 mph.

Why the RTC-80160

Flagship capacity, rough terrain manners.

195.3 ft six-section boom

Greaseless, formed, extra-high-tensile construction: one base and five telescoping sections that extend independently for capacity at length.

311 ft of reach

A 10–31–55 ft bi-fold lattice fly plus one, two, or three 18 ft lattice extensions take tip height from 258 ft to a full 311 ft.

Six-wheel hydrostatic drive

Two variable-speed pumps feed six computer-controlled wheel motors, with 6×2 and 6×6 modes and steering patterns down to crab.

Link-Belt Pulse

The in-house total crane operating system: integrated RCL, boom position, tip height, and audible-visual overload warnings in the cab.

59,000 lb of counterweight

Staged counterweights pin to the upper for the big charts, with optional hydraulic removal so the machine travels lighter between jobs.

Winches built to reeve

15 in grooved drums with 900 ft of main rope and 25,955 lb of line pull, plus an optional rear winch for two-drum work.

Link-Belt RTC-80160 Series II FAQ

How much can the Link-Belt RTC-80160 Series II lift?

The RTC-80160 Series II has a maximum rated capacity of 160 US tons (145.1 metric tons) at a 7-foot radius. Capacity tapers with radius and boom length. Refer to the in-cab Crane Rating Manual for the exact chart for your configuration.

What is the maximum tip height of the RTC-80160?

With the bi-fold fly the tip height is 258 ft (78.6 m). Adding one, two, or three 18 ft lattice extensions raises it to 276, 293, or 311 ft (84.1, 89.3, or 94.8 m); the tallest configurations carry a minimum counterweight requirement.

What engine powers the RTC-80160 Series II?

A Cummins QSL9 six-cylinder diesel producing 345 hp (257 kW) at 2,000 rpm in Tier 4 Final / Stage IV configuration, or 350 hp in Tier 3 / Stage IIIA for markets that accept it.

Is the RTC-80160 the largest rough terrain crane Link-Belt makes?

Yes. At 160 US tons with a 195.3 ft six-section boom, it is the largest-capacity, longest-boom rough terrain crane in the Link-Belt line.
