A telescopic crawler crane pairs a smooth, hydraulically extending round boom with a crawler undercarriage instead of wheels. That wide track footprint distributes the crane’s weight, so it can travel and lift at soft, wet, or load-sensitive sites that would bog down a wheeled crane or demand a full yard mat.
Because the crane already sits on its lifting base, there is often no separate outrigger setup. Simply position the tracks, extend the side frames if the job calls for it, and pick.
Every Link-Belt® TCC model in this line runs a Cummins engine and the Link-Belt® Pulse operating system, so the choice between models comes down to capacity, reach, and the job site ground.

What is a telescopic crawler crane?
A crane that combines a smooth, round telescoping boom with a crawler (track) undercarriage instead of wheels or outriggers. That pairing lets it lift at full rated capacity while traveling on soft, uneven, or load-sensitive ground where a wheeled crane would need mats or would not fit.
What is the difference between a telescopic crawler and a lattice crawler crane?
A telescopic crawler crane uses a smooth, hydraulically extending round boom, similar to a rough terrain or truck crane’s boom, but mounted on tracks. A lattice crawler crane uses a trussed, cross-braced boom built up from bolted or pinned sections. Telescopic crawlers set up and travel faster; lattice crawlers typically reach greater heights and capacities at long range.
What size telescopic crawler crane do I need?
It depends on your maximum load, radius, ground conditions, and required reach. Link-Belt’s current line runs from the TCC-550 (55 US tons) up to the TCC-2500 (250 US tons), with tip heights from around 172 ft to over 300 ft depending on model and fly configuration.
